September 4, 2009 It is obvious that we have a surplus of equipment and textbooks within the science department. I am asking each of you to spend the next few days to separate items you wish to keep in your classroom from items that can be donated or discarded. Please identify all items in need of repair, box and label all items to be donated, and discard all other items. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you in advance for actively maintaining your room and the science department as a whole.
October 6, 2009 Over the next two weeks please read the posted course descriptions for the courses that you teach. Many of these descriptions are in need of revision. Most importantly, please add or revise the current prerequisites to reflect the math background necessary for the course. Feel free to designate between regular and honors courses, as well as minimum grade requirements. These revisions should be completed no later than Tuesday, October 20. Thank you in advance.
October 27, 2009 Now is the time to begin thinking about possible elective courses for the 2010 - 2011 academic year. Currently, we offer Human Evolution and Applied Physics, however I would like to offer at least one elective in each of the subject areas - either one or two semesters in length. Brainstorm a few ideas before Thanksgiving break. If you are interested in teaching an elective, please send me an email and include a brief description of the course.
